Statement of Principles in Protecting Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults

“Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited will work in partnership with all partner agencies to provide support and training to build a network of support and safety for Children and Young People and for Vulnerable Adults through developing good practice in the prevention, investigation and protection from abuse. Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited believes that all people have the right to live lives free from violence and abuse. There will be a policy of zero tolerance of abuse through ensuring that all concerns and allegations of abuse are reported and addressed in accordance with their degree of seriousness.

The principles below describe the way in which Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited will work to safeguard Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults and the beneficial outcomes we are aiming for when operating the Safeguarding protocol and procedures. It will be the responsibility of Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited to monitor and review these outcomes, measuring progress in achieving them as far as possible and ensuring that action is taken to address any difficulties that arise"

• Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited is committed to work together through the framework of this protocol to provide a network of services to safeguard and support Children and Young People and vulnerable adults.

• Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited will promote the protocol through inclusion in their internal policies, training materials and investigation processes.

• This protocol will apply to all Safeguarding Children and Adult Service’s.

• Partner agencies will give priority to the safeguarding of Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults ensuring they use the information and processes in the protocol to report and provide protection to Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults within the function of their agency, and the agencies involved will facilitate access by providing appropriate support.

• Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited will operate the principles and processes in this protocol and will have the appropriate level of information and training to understand the needs of Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults.

• All Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults regardless of race, religion, cultural background age, gender, or physical, sensory or mental impairment will be supported in accessing safeguarding services.

• Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited will within training and consultancy support staff of purchasing agencies about their role and responsibilities through being provided with training and procedures for the safeguarding of Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults.

• Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited will support purchasing agencies and give priority to raising the awareness of abuse and the entitlement of Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults to the protection of the law and access to services.

• Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited will work in the best interest of adults who lack capacity within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

• Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited will respect confidentiality unless the safety of any Vulnerable Child or Young person or Vulnerable Adult is at risk of abuse in which case Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited reserves the right to discuss this openly with the client and breach confidentiality as required by law.

• Allied Child Protection Consultants Limited will provide a full and comprehensive report where consultancy or investigations require such reports. The Client will then have responsibility for any disciplinary action taken or criminal reporting required.
